About the Author
Mackenzie Holland
Mackenzie is a pediatric speech-language pathologist who specializes in the birth to five-year-old population. Her journey to becoming a children’s book author was a fated one!
As her oldest child, Vaughan, began stuttering, Mackenzie and her husband knew they wanted a way to talk to him about his stutter that felt informative, celebratory, and also engaging. The dream of Daniel the Digger and the Talking Town Crew grew from there — and the rest is history!
Mackenzie lives in Maine with her husband and two children. She and her family enjoy spending time outdoors, especially on Maine’s beautiful beaches and expansive walking and biking trails. Mackenzie hopes that Daniel’s story inspires readers young and old to celebrate their own differences and to be a friend to those who need one!
About the Illustrator
Eleanor Jones
Based in Suffolk UK, Eleanor is a Freelance Illustrator working within the Children’s Publishing sector.
From a young age Eleanor spent every spare second sat with her pencils busily creating characters and scenes for them to explore!
This love of creating continues today - Eleanor is passionate about creating characters that empower children to be themselves and specifically to alleviate some of the stereotyping that children often face, using a range of diverse characters to challenge this.
Since qualifying in early childhood education alongside her art studies, Eleanor draws from her real first-hand experiences relating to the way children interact, play and the things that are important to them as well as their learning needs - this heavily influences Eleanor’s work.
